SEIRD offers residentual document shredding! District residents can bring sensitive documents to their local recycling center, where they insert them into a locked, tamper-proof container. These containers remain locked at all times. Once the container is full, it is transported to our Madison facility where the contents will be shredded. If you are not comfortable leaving your documents, you can make an appointment to personally watch your documents be shredded. Limit of 3 bankers boxes (or boxes of similar size).

Staples need not be removed; however, the following things must be removed prior to depositing your shred: paperclips, binder clips, plastic sheet protectors, plastic checkbook/bank book covers, metal tabs from hanging file folders, metal coils from spiral notebooks, rubber bands, and any type of plastic cards, such as credit cards, ID’s, membership cards, etc. RESIDENTIAL only, no business shred.
