Separating Waste

Welcome to Recycle Right! This page is a resource for the important steps in recycling. Here you will find information, tips, and suggestions to ensure your recycling efforts produce the maximum good and prevent contamination of recyclables.

Plastics

SEIRD provides recycling services for empty plastic bottles and jug-shaped containers made from #1 and #2 plastics. Additionally, many recycling centers accept #5 plastics, such as containers for cottage cheese, yogurt, and sour cream.

To ensure proper recycling, it is crucial to sort these items correctly to avoid contaminating the recyclables. To identify the recyclable type, look for the recycling symbol, usually found on the bottom of your container. The number inside this symbol indicates the specific type of plastic an item is made out of.
